Returns & Exchange Policy

The Short Version

  • Change of mind, wrong size, or just not the one? Full-priced items can be returned within 14 days of delivery for an exchange, store credit, or refund.
  • Ladieswear refunds: a flat $15 fee applies per return (not per item), to cover the payment processing costs we're charged the moment your order is placed — this includes combo returns with kids' items. No fee if you choose exchange or store credit instead.
  • Kidswear returns: no fee on refunds.
  • Sale, promotional, or discount-code orders: exchange or store credit only — no cash refunds.
  • US orders: refunds are available, minus 20% to cover the import tariff we've already paid on your behalf. Exchanges and store credit are available at full value, no deduction.
  • Faulty item? Replacement, repair, or refund, always — no exceptions, in line with Australian Consumer Law.
  • Gift cards are non-refundable, and orders paid for with a gift card are refunded back to store credit, not cash.

Change of Mind, Wrong Size, or Just Not the One

We get it — sometimes a colour looks different in person, or sizing doesn't land the way you hoped. Items bought at full price, with no discount code applied, can be returned within 14 days of delivery if they're:

  • Unworn and unwashed
  • In retail-quality condition
  • With all original tags and packaging attached

From there, you can choose:

  • Exchange for a different size or style, subject to stock. If what you want isn't available once your return reaches us, we'll issue store credit instead — no fee either way.
  • Store credit, valid for 3 years.
  • Refund to your original payment method.

On refunds: if your return includes any ladieswear, a flat $15 fee applies to the whole return (not per item) — including combo returns with kids' items. Kidswear returns have no fee. This comes out of the return total, not as a separate charge. No fee applies either way if you choose exchange or store credit. If your order had free shipping applied, the original shipping cost is also deducted from a refund.


Sale, Promotional & Discount Code Orders

Items bought on sale, with a clearance/promotional discount, or using any discount code — including sitewide promo or welcome codes — can be exchanged or returned for store credit, but we're not able to offer cash refunds on these.

Since these can't be refunded, it's worth using our size guide or messaging us before you buy if you're unsure — we're always happy to help you pick the right size the first time.


US Orders

All tariffs and import duties on US orders are prepaid by us, so nothing extra lands on you at delivery. Because of that, US refunds have 20% deducted to cover the tariff cost we've already paid. Exchanges and store credit are available at full value with no deduction, and faulty items are covered exactly the same as anywhere else.

This refund option applies the same way as it does elsewhere: it's only available on full-price items with no discount code applied. US orders that were on sale or used a discount code follow the Sale, Promotional & Discount Code rules above — exchange or store credit only.


Faulty Items

If something arrives with a genuine manufacturing fault, let us know within 14 days of delivery — a few photos and a quick description helps us sort it fast. We'll offer a replacement, repair, or refund, whether the item was full price, on sale, or bought with a discount code, in line with Australian Consumer Law.

This covers manufacturing faults — general wear and tear, or damage from washing/drying outside our care instructions, isn't considered faulty.


Gift Cards, Store Credit & Discount Codes

  • Gift cards themselves are non-refundable.
  • Orders paid for with a gift card are refunded back to store credit, not your original payment method.
  • Discount codes can't be combined with credit notes or exchange codes from a previous order.
  • We're not obligated to extend a promotional discount outside its advertised dates.

How to Start a Return

Email hello@marlowandmae.com and we'll get you sorted. (Check your junk folder if you don't hear back right away — replies sometimes land there.)


Return Conditions

  • Returns must be mailed to us — we're not able to accept drop-offs.
  • Purchases must have been made at www.marlowandmae.com.
  • Start your return within 14 days of delivery, and get it to us within 15 days of approval.
  • Return postage is at your cost — we recommend tracked or registered post, since the parcel is your responsibility until it reaches us.
  • Please allow 1–3 business days to process your return once it arrives — we'll confirm once it's done.
  • Refunds appear back on your original payment method shortly after processing, though your bank's own timing can add a few extra days.
